- Simultaneous interpretation in Mixed Booths
Simultaneous interpreting allows to follow the translation of speeches, presentations and debates, question and answer sessions between several languages in real time, thanks to the continuous work of two interpreters per booth.
By simply selecting their listening channel, the attendees overcome the language barrier and can understand each other and express themselves as comfortably as if all participants spoke the same language.
Respaldo chooses mixed booths not only because this solution is more affordable than pure booths (which require two interpreters for each working language, as they only translate into their mother tongue), but also because the research supports the choice of this solution.
Technical and human needs by language pair
Face-to-face and hybrid events:
- 2 interpreters taking turns and helping each other (if the total duration is less than 90 minutes, one interpreter per booth could do the job);
- a simultaneous interpretation booth (if the room is not equipped with a booth, a mobile booth can be rented and installed just for sessions that require it);
- a public address system connected to it (idem).
- A sound technician.
Remote sessions:
- 2 interpreters taking turns and helping each other (if the total duration is less than 90 minutes, one interpreter per booth could do the job);
- An interpreting platform or a video conferencing platform with a built-in interpreting function
- An assistant or support person.
- In this case, the participants provide their own technical means (electronic device, Internet connection, headphones and microphone, all connected by cable).
